A 12-year veteran of consumer marketing, John Reese began his Time Inc. career at Sports Illustrated in 1992. During his tenure at Sports Illustrated, he held a number of positions managing and building a variety of subscription acquisition and retention sources prior to being named assistant consumer marketing director in 1997. In 1999, John left Sports Illustrated to become the executive marketing director, online marketing for Time Inc. consumer marketing. In that capacity, he developed and managed a centralized marketing and operations department focused on leveraging the Internet and AOL as a source of subscription generation for Time Inc.

In September of 2001, John joined the TIME circulation staff as marketing director and assumed his current position as consumer marketing director in January 2003.

Prior to joining Time Inc., John worked as a media planner for Jordan, McGrath, Case and Taylor, and began his direct marketing career at cataloguer Hanover Direct as a Marketing Analyst. He earned a B.S. degree in Marketing from SUNY Albany and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.

John grew up in Walden, New York and resides on the Upper West side of Manhattan with his wife Jennifer, also a publishing executive.
