Karen Saltser Cohen was named General Manager of the TIME Group in August 2004. Her main responsibilities include management of the group’s financial and administrative operations, TIME.com and New Business Development.
Karen Saltser Cohen was named General Manager, Development, Finance and Operations for Time Inc.’s Real Simple in January 2003. Saltser Cohen joined Real Simple prior to the magazine’s launch as General Manager in charge of Finance and Operations in October 1999.
During her tenure, Real Simple more than quadrupled its circulation and became significantly profitable in just four years. The magazine also won numerous accolades including being named the #1 magazine on AdWeek’s 2004 Hot List.
Prior to joining Real Simple, Saltser Cohen was General Manager of Miller Sports Group, a division of Miller Publishing. She was also Director of Finance at Time Inc.’s Entertainment Weekly, as well as Business Manager at Food & Wine magazine.
Saltser Cohen is on the Institute for Student Achievement’s Board of Directors. ISA is a not-for-profit organization that works in partnership with high schools to enable at-risk students to stay in school, graduate, and go on to college and the world of work.
Saltser Cohen received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia University. She currently resides in New York City with her husband and three children.
